Sandie, Amazon review
This is a must have for Sacred Harp singers. Buell introduces us to some outstanding singers in a way which gives us a deeper understanding of this passion we share. My only regret was that the stories had to end. And if you aren't a singer the book gives you a glimpse into the history of a part of America that has been evolving for centuries here and now taking root across the world. The people make this tradition what it is and thanks to Buell I know more of them.

Singing is actually one of the things that I can say I am really good at. I started singing when I was just 12 years old. I am not aware of this talent of mine not until my teacher heard me singing one afternoon. After that incident, she invited me to sing at one of our events at school. I was nervous at first, but I am really happy I was able to survive that nerve racking experience. I have to share as well that after I realized that I can sing, I started singing as well at our Church. I am so happy I can use this talent given by the Lord for His Glory!

I believe that singing is something that should be taken seriously. I am actually kind of jealous to those people who have been given this kind of talent because ever since I was just a kid, I so already love singing even though my voice is not that really good to hear. But anyway, I do believe as well that singing can actually be developed as time goes by because this is what happened to my friend. She used to sing on our Church and I think that is basically the reason why she became good at singing. So perhaps, I still have the chance and it is never really too late for me.
